About ZapFile

ZapFile is a collection of free, fast and private file tools. Almost all of them run entirely in your browser, with no uploads and no account. Just open a tool and start working.

Our Mission

We believe everyone should have access to powerful file tools without sacrificing their privacy or paying for subscriptions. ZapFile provides a comprehensive suite of tools for working with PDFs, images, audio, and more — completely free and accessible to everyone.

How It Works

Almost everything is processed directly in your browser with modern web technologies. When you compress an image or merge PDFs, your files never leave your device, there's no waiting for a server, and the tools keep working offline once the page has loaded. The one exception is Word, Excel, PowerPoint and HTML to PDF: its default fast mode converts on our server and deletes the file right away, and its Private mode converts in your browser instead.

Privacy First

Privacy is the foundation of ZapFile, not a feature. We don't keep your files, we don't ask you to create an account, and the only tool that can use our server says so clearly and lets you switch to on-device conversion.

Built With

ZapFile is built with Next.js and leverages powerful browser APIs including Canvas, Web Audio, and WebAssembly. These technologies enable us to perform complex file operations — from image processing to PDF manipulation — entirely client-side.

Open Source

ZapFile is an open-source project. We believe in transparency and community-driven development. You can review the code, suggest improvements, or contribute new tools. Building in the open ensures that our privacy promises are verifiable by anyone.
